Young Alberta Entrepreneur Wins National Business Award

colin.jpgThe Canadian Youth Business Foundation is a national charity that provides funding for 18-34 year-old entrepreneurs who have a great idea for a business but are unable to tap into traditional sources of funding. The charity has invested in 2400 entrepreneurs since its inception in 1996.

The CYBF recently announced their National Best Business Award winner, and it is Alberta-based entrepreneur Colin Davison who won the honour this year. Colin’s company is called Stealth Acoustical & Emission Control Inc. – a company that supplies noise and emission reduction technology to the Oil & Gas, Power Generation and other industrial markets.

Congratulations to Colin whose company did $5 million in sales last year, and is projecting to double that figure for 2008. What is the key to Colin’s entrepreneurial success? There are more than one to be sure but I think this quote from Colin sums it up best. Do whatever it takes to get the job done.

“There’s a real expectation, you have to be willing to do everything to deliver your service. If you’re short people and you’ve got a project, be prepared to be out there in your coveralls on Thanksgiving Sunday for that client.” - Colin Davison
